Campaigns

Campaigning can be defined simply as ‘finding solutions to problems that face us’.

At ‘Its the Drink Talking’ we want to see young people participate in policy focused campaigns in order to tackle issues related to alcohol that are important to them. Young people rarely have their voices heard by those in power and campaigning is one way to achieve this. We believe it is important that young people understand how decisions made by government, councils or even the alcohol industry affect individual lives and for young people to get experience of influencing decision-makers.

Each campaign is different; they can be local or national, with ten supporters or thousands. The important thing is that young people own the process of identifying and achieving a campaign goal.

If you are a youth leader working with youth groups or young people, these downloadable resources will help you to get started developing an alcohol campaign.
